My predictions for England this tournament.....lose lose lose. Anything above that will be a huge bonus, and a step in the right direction.

Huge bonus it is...
Bowlers were comfortable all game, not sure what the ealry Sri Lankan plans were - but they didnt work and a low total which was reached without too much hassle - not bad. Champions Trophy 2009 786228

Win or lose today, another fantastic batting effort thus far. 241/3, 10 overs to go.

UPDATE: So one of the two worst teams in the tournament, look set to progress to the semis, after beating arguably, two of the worlds finest one day teams. All that after being humiliated by the Aussies.

A good effort overall in a one day tournament for England. Maybe we just have to simply say that Australia are far too good.

Im sure there are no witchhunts in Bangladesh when their side gets beaten by better teams.

Room for improvement for England, but a good start, nonethless.

I think it's fair to say a good few positives came out of this tournament but as you say - hold your hands up to Australia, they are a class or two above England in the ODI game (ask them if they'd rather have the Ashes though, lol).

Though after beating South Africa (who are rated by many pundits as the best team) and then to lose that comprehensively against Australia may raise a few eyebrows.

Lots of room for improvement and a lot of work to be done, but there are signs that England are working out how to play ODIs for the first time in 10+ years.
