World Cup 2018 + 2022

Russia and Qatar? I can understand the legacy aspect of Russia and the hope that the World Cup will lead to improvements in the quality of life among Russian society, though I am not sure that will happen. But Qatar doesn't make any sense. The cynic in me wonders how many of the voting delegates of Fifa just got a huge boost in their retirement funds.

It is disappointing but not surprising. Always thought England was a long shot considering the back room politics that go on at these types of bid competitions. I was hoping it would be England in 2018 and the USA in 2022 or at least one of them. I guess that's me done for getting to a World Cup, can't see still being around come 2026 and it will probably be China or India who hosts it in 2026 anyway.

England got two votes! One of them was from Britain's FIFA vice-president Geoff Thompson. That is absolute slap in the face. All that ass kissing to Jack Warner ( likely the biggest crook of the lot) and they didn't even get CONCACAF's three votes.

They picked the only two countries with high risks in any of the categories.

I just remember the problems that Utd and Chelsea fans had in getting visas to go into Russia for one match. Thats 100000 odd fans.

Many more than that will be descending on Russia for the best part of a month. There will hvae to be some sort of reform for that to happen.

I think its great - I won money on England again - 10 mins before FIFA announced who was the winners, Sky Sports News reported Sky bet now had England 1/2 on favs to host the 2018 WC. Less than 5 mins later, the unofficial result was being spoken before they all sat down of who had won.


I love betting on our country fucking things up - When u have the power of a country like Russia's money - people like Walker no longer have to sell tickets to the black market to make his cut - it turns up in suitcases as cash anywhere he likes - and hey, not only does he take that wedge - he can sell tickets again n double his take!

They have said they are going to waive the need for visas
