First of all a friendly three days before the season kicks off is really strange to me. I can imagine Premier managers ranting about not having the bulk of their squad the week before their first game so that they can prepare properly.
But does England follow the approach used by the managers of Netherlands, Brazil and France to pick
their squads for the upcoming Friendly Matches. The managers of these three nations have axed most of their world cup squad and instead have called up youngsters with a view to give themexperience for the future tournaments or just to rest some of their top players. Should this approach be used by Capello in their upcoming friendly against Hungary?
Maybe take a chance on a lot of these for the friendly with 5 or 6 of the big names coming back for the qualifier.
Hart, Cahill, Shawcross, Dawson, Jagielka, Baines, Huddlestone, Rodwell, Johnson, Young, Bent, Agbonlahor, Walcott
So who would get the nod for your England team on Aug 11th or don't you really care?
