Gerrard pulled his hamstring and hobbled off in the 84th minute, supposedly even though Liverpool had an agreement the Capello would only play him for 60 minutes.
Capello said Gerrard stayed on because slight injuries had forced Rio Ferdinand and Gareth Barry to come off at half-time, and the manager needed the vice-captain to stay on the pitch.
I haven't heard yet the seriousness of Rio's or Barry's injury but initial reports are that Gerrard's could be a bad one.
By the way, why did we have a friendly at this time?
