Just four first-choice players for the Berlin clash tomorrow — John Terry, David James, Gareth Barry and Theo Walcott.

Lampard, Gerrard Ferdinand, Rooney, A. Cole, J. Cole and Heskey are out injured. Will make a mess of the fantasy teams if they all miss next weekends' games for their clubs.

I doubt they are that injured. Just too injured to play for their country. Don't we discuss this every time England comes around. Gerrard and Lampard playing for Liverpool and Chelsea and then missing England duty is not a foreign concept, especially for the former!!!

Frank, like John has it written in his contract that he must always be released to play for his country.

If he isnt there - he really is injured.

I think there are injuries and then there are injuries. I suspect most of those missing from the England line up do have slight injuries, but they are the type of injury they would play through if it was a big league game for their club.Just like Rooney and Ferdinand missed the Stoke game, if the game had been against a top side, I would think they both would have played.

Should be interesting viewing tonight and I have to say I havent looked forward to a England friendly so much for a long long time.

So many young players might be given a chance - its how friendlys should be used.

Very enjoyable 1st half - Germany are timid - underpar for them - we look young fearless and prime to make a mistake at sometime to let them bak in - Saw the best n worst of Agbonlahor - brilliant running to win the ball, terrible passing to a fellow team member.

Is Downing a Player?

Good game and a good performances by a number of players on the edge of getting in to the England line up. Agbonlahor in his first game for England gave the Germans trouble with his pace. Carrick looked in control of the midfield, Upson looks like he could be a regular one day and Downing had one of his best days. Should give the first team players home with knocks something to thing about.

I thought Carrick went missing from his holding role a number of times in the 2nd half.
