Only saw the last half an hour, work getting in the way of football again. Will have to learn prioritize better in the future. However, England looked sharp hat trick from Defoe and Rooney being involved in all four goals. Perhaps Bulgaria folded or were worn down but the last 30 minutes England looked like world beaters again. Why couldn't they do this in the World Cup against weaker competition?

What was the first hour like? Was 4-0 a fair reflection of the game?

4-0 was fair enough. England scored early and controlled the game from then on. Was only a matter of time before the floodgates opened and they did.

Decent performance all round and you do have to ask why we cant perform like that against weaker oppposition in the big tournaments. Perhaps its just a case of the pressure they are under, but you would have thought given the dismal world cup showing, the players would be under a certain amount of pressure yesterday.

Ashley Cole looked good going forward and had plenty of freedom to do so, setting up the first goal. Rooney started slowly, but Defoe on the last man really gave him room to operate and he played a part in the later goals. Walcott looked happy back in the set up and played well.

Dawsons injury is a shame, and I would have thought we will have to wait to see the extent of the damage but real shame for him if he cant take part in Spurs CL campaign. It looked a bad one.

Well u can be sure from this game, we wont win in Bulgaria. Not often everything Defoe hits ends up in goal, so last night was a rare event for him. Ashley Cole was again outstanding unlike the captain who looked like he waiting in line outside a courtroom.

I thought Bulgaria were very comfortable, until in the 2nd half they commited more players forward and on Englands 2nd goal, they were very unlucky, almost scoring, only for England to break and Bulgaria to have one of their centre halfs on the floor injured as Rooney ran past him. The goals that followed were to be expected.

Questions one must ask, The new central defensive partnership would have been far more tested if Berbatov hadnt retired from International football. Will Walcott ever be able to "Think" & "Play" at the same time? Rooney did more in this game than he has in the previous 5, why? Why do we have to continue to suffer the worst commontater ever to pick up a mic on ITV. The guy is so far up Gerrard n Rooneys ass, he can see whats being eaten by them before they swallow!
