Mikel Arteta for England

Everton fans have launched a campaign to get midfielder Mikel Arteta to play for England. They have started a petition on evertonbanter.co.uk to persuade England to pick their favourite play maker in January 2010 when he becomes eligible under the residency rule. More than a hundred have already signed their 'Mikel Arteta for England' campaign This would even make him available for the World Cup if England qualify even though he did win seven caps at Spanish under-21 level.

Arteta is a left sided mid fielder I believe, maybe worth a thought.

Haha. Do we really need to borrow players? Be interesting to see if Tick thinks this is cheating...

I just think of that French team that won the World Cup in 1998, you would have been hard pressed to find a true Frenchman on the team.
